Industry design combines creativity,technology,business,research and consumer closely together to do creative activity,solve problems and make solutions visible.Aluminum is one of the common materials, which is used for the shell of electronics.We will study how they take advantage of aluminum characters while design apple products.

First of all,we know that ipod touch is made of A6063 aluminum, which is easily to crease on surface when compressed.This crease will make difficulty for polishing.Ipod touch need to be thoroughly grinded to remove the crease and polished to achieve mirror effect.To make metal shining, they do anodizing.It adds metal material into liquid water and after electrolysis,the metal surface will form an oxidation film.This treatment enhances the surface intensity and dyes new color, also keeps special cool metal feeling.

When metal characters are well used, we feel the special metallic and get smooth soft feeling.This is what ipad touch brings to us.
